Blade: Trinity(2004)

the nadir of nu metal cinema. the first blade had charisma and style, the second blade had style, and blade: trinity has... ryan reynolds. in some ways this is an elegy for pre-marvel hegemony superhero films in its surprisingly small scale and scuzzy tone, but in other ways it's a harbinger of things to come -- the emphasis on quips over emotion, the reliance on an expansive cast of characters instead of exploring the depths of the hero, the forgettable villains, so on into infinity.
