That sizzling strip of bacon may be calling your name come brunch, but you might want to consider swapping it for tempeh bacon instead if you're looking to preserve your youthful appearance. Nitrates, a preservative necessary in cured meats, have been linked to increased deaths from age-related diseases, including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, according to a Journal of Alzheimer's Disease study.

This icky additive is commonly slipped into processed foods and snacks and is something you want to steer clear of as much as you can. "Although excessive sugar intake is detrimental to looking young altogether, high fructose corn syrup is believed to be the worst kind for your skin (and overall health)," shares Orlick Levy. "The sugar in your diet can damage your skin's collagen and elastin, making you look wrinkled with skin that is no longer firm," she adds. Find out the worst packaged foods in America to get a better handle on what to avoid at all costs!

Soft drinks are the number one source of added sugars among ultra-processed foods to the American diet, accounting for 17.1 percent of the U.S. intake of added sugars, according to a 2016 BMJ study. So if you're looking to cut back on inflammation-causing sugar, you should start by kicking your soda habit. Doubling down on the aging aspect of soda, consider the effect this sugar water is having on your teeth. A 2016 study published in the Journal of the American Dental Association measured the pH of 379 store-bought beverages. Drinks with a pH under 3.0 were labeled "extremely erosive" while drinks with a pH between 3.0 and 3.99 were "erosive." This study found 85 sodas to be either "Extremely Erosive" or "Erosive" to your teeth. Sodas that landed on the list ranged from popular cans such as Pepsi to more health-centric seltzers like Fresca. Speaking of soda, have you seen these 108 Most Popular Sodas Ranked by How Toxic They Are?

You may not want class-level memoization often, but it is there as an option. However, if you need a value to be cached at this level it is probably worth looking at caching the value with an external store like Redis or memcached.

In Rails applications, the most common use-case I see for memoization is reducing database calls, particularly when a value is not going to change within a single request. "Finder" methods for looking up records in controllers are a good example of this kind of database call such as:

Dermatologists from the American Academy of Dermatology recommend starting with one skin-care product at a time. Test it on your forearm a few days before applying to your face. If any product stings or burns, stop using it immediately. Also, be sure to follow the instructions on the product and avoid overuse. Consistently using a product as recommended may lead to younger-looking skin, so give it time to work.

Many different ingredients are touted to make you look younger. But buyer beware. Only choose products with ingredients that have been shown to make your face soft and younger looking. For instance, retinol is a vitamin A compound and the first antioxidant to be extensively used in nonprescription wrinkle creams. Vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant, helps protect skin from sun damage. Green tea is used in skin-care products because of its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

According to Mayo Clinic, when looking for wrinkle creams, look for the following ingredients, which are filled with antioxidants, alpha hydroxy acids, and anti-inflammatories that will improve the appearance of wrinkles:

There are plenty of super-simple things you can do to keep your complexion healthy and have younger-looking skin regardless of what birthday you most recently celebrated. Andrea Robinson, the former head of beauty for Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford and the author of Toss the Gloss: Beauty Tips, Tricks, and Truths for Women 50+, shares her insider knowledge on what anti-aging products really work, makeup tips that are guaranteed to make you look younger, and more.

When shopping for skin-care products, there are three powerful ingredients you should look for to maintain younger-looking skin, says Robinson. One, check the label for a serum containing antioxidants like vitamin C (Robinson likes Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Daily Serum), which will help brighten your skin. Two, add retinoids, which increase cell turnover and stimulate collagen renewal, to your routine. And three, start using an alpha hydroxy acid exfoliator to remove the top layer of dead skin cells (Robinson is a fan of Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads, which are gentle enough to be used daily). Use these three products as directed on the label to make your face soft and look younger.

That couldn't stop us. And we just went on before the dogs and we would look at them; and we'd go on before the water hoses and we would look at it, and we'd just go on singing "Over my head I see freedom in the air." And then we would be thrown in the paddy wagons, and sometimes we were stacked in there like sardines in a can. And they would throw us in, and old Bull would say, "Take them off," and they did; and we would just go in the paddy wagon singing, "We Shall Overcome." And every now and then we'd get in the jail, and we'd see the jailers looking through the windows being moved by our prayers, and being moved by our words and our songs. And there was a power there which Bull Connor couldn't adjust to; and so we ended up transforming Bull into a steer, and we won our struggle in Birmingham.

It's all right to talk about "long white robes over yonder," in all of its symbolism. But ultimately people want some suits and dresses and shoes to wear down here. It's all right to talk about "streets flowing with milk and honey," but God has commanded us to be concerned about the slums down here, and his children who can't eat three square meals a day. It's all right to talk about the new Jerusalem, but one day, God's preachers must talk about the New York, the new Atlanta, the new Philadelphia, the new Los Angeles, the new Memphis, Tennessee. This is what we have to do.

Young Judy Hopps: [puts on a police officer's hat] It may seem impossible to small minds - I'm looking at you, Gideon Grey - [Gideon glares at her; the jungle backdrop curtain on the stage rises, revealing a colorful painted mural of Zootopia behind it. Sharla and Jaguar hold up a banner reading "where anyone can be anything"; Bobby plays the piano in the background.] ...but, just two-hundred and eleven miles away stands the great city of Zootopia, where our ancestors first joined together in peace and declared that anyone can be anything! [Judy bows. Bobby plays the final notes on a keyboard and turns to the audience with a grin. The audience applauds. Stu closes the camcorder and he and Bonnie look at each other in concern] Thank you and good night!

[Judy watches Nick, slyly standing by an ice cream parlor, Jumbeaux's Café. When an elephant enters, Nick goes inside. Suspicious, Judy runs across the road, goes up to the parlor and peeks through the window looking for Nick, but she doesn't see him. There are elephants in line, and a hippo kid is seen walking.]

Nick Wilde: I'm not looking for any trouble either, sir. I simply wanna buy a Jumbo-pop for my little boy. [a fennec fox, Finnick appears, in an elephant costume, sucking on a pacifier. He looks at Judy. Judy is taken aback; to Finnick] You want the red or the blue, pal?

Judy Hopps: Uh... no. I'm Officer Hopps, ZPD. I'm looking for a missing mammal; Emmitt Otterton, right here, who may have frequented this establishment? [takes out the Otterton picture and shows it to Yax. He looks at it, inhales, and sneezes, making the flies surrounding him buzz loudly]

Nick Wilde: [grabs Judy and starts to head out] Well, it's gonna be an even bigger crime scene if Mr. Big finds me here, so we're leaving, right now! [Nick opens the door where two polar bears are waiting outside. Nick recoils and jumps back, startled] Oh, gah! [he tries to hide his nervousness by looking suave] Raymond! And is that Kevin? Long time no see! And speaking of "no see", how about you forget you saw [pointing at himself] me. Huh? For old time's sake? [Raymond and Kevin grab Judy and Nick by their necks] That's a no.

[They pull them off and they drive off in a limo. Judy and Nick are between both polar bears in stunned, wide-eyed silence. Music faintly plays on the radio. Raymond is looking through pictures on his phone. He looks at one, a selfie showing both of them smiling at the camera while holding a wolf in a headlock, and chuckles. Judy looks away from the pictures.]

Nick Wilde: [inhales, trying to change the subject, looking out of the car] Boy, look at that traffic down there. How about we go up to Chuck in traffic central? [puts two fingers up to his ear, imitating a reporter] Chuck, how're things looking on the jam-cams? 041b061a72
